Right i come home after being out and went to turn on my laptop but i did not notice that the powercord at the end was open had been chewed on by the dog, When i plug it in it made a zappin noise and shut down the computer. I took the power cord out and tried to turn back on the laptop about an hour later. It come on and worked like normall untill the battery ran out so i know atleast it ain the monther board thankfully. I Used my mates charger who has exactly the same laptop as me and it made my charing light flicker so i took the battery out and then poped it back in and the laptop come on and worked like normall. But it was not charging my battery it says it is but it isnt, I put my battery in my mates laptop and it charged so i know it aint the battery. So what can this be ?
Thanks for any help in advance !

From your description of the problem and your toubleshooting info I would say that the internal charge circuit has been zapped (not a jack problem) and the laptop is in need of repair.

Edit: Does the laptop work with the battery out and using only your friends charger?

So, with a good charger plugged into your charging jack and the battery removed, the laptop won't work... Correct? If that is accurate then a new DC Socket / Cable may be the answer or there could also be some damage to components on the motherboard where the cable plugs in. The DC Socket and Cable is cheap enough that you can't lose much by trying it even if it isn't the problem.

You may need to have a repair shop replace it for you unless you have the abilities to take your notebook apart without damage. If you are comfortable replacing the cable, give it a go.
