Hi, I just got a new router and I'm having trouble connecting to the wireless internet. No trouble at all if I use the ethernet cord though. My computer shows that I have an excellent signal from my wireless router but when I try to connect to the internet it will not do it. My roommates think the wireless card is fried but I think I wouldn't get a signal if this were the case! I've tried a few things with internet options and network connections but no luck. The computer was recently cleaned of pretty much most software and such from the previous owner. Any suggestions? Should I download something?

    Thanks
    Noah

Sometimes it all depends on the software you are using for your wireless card. I've noticed some wireless cards only like to work with their software, and some like to work with Windows Software. I would uninstall and re-install the wireless software and drivers for your laptops wireless card and see if that works for you.
