    Compaq R3000 Lcd Brightness Help Required Please

    I booted up the laptop fine , but after not using it for awhile i noticed that the screen and keyboard were a little dirty , at this time the display was great , no problems.

    After turning off the laptop , i got some cleaner and sprayed it on a rag and then cleaned the keyboard and then the display. After cleaning i turned the laptop back on and i could barely see the image on the screen.
    I tried to adjust the brightness via the FN and F8 key , but nothing. If i use the FN and any other function keys other than F7 and F8 they all work fine , this along with the "Windows" key which i can just make out brings up the start menu.

    Any suggestions as to what might be wrong and how to correct this??
