I lost sound on my Compaq R4125 a couple of days ago and have went bald trying to figure something out. I have deleted and let the system load the program after finding new hardware, still nothing. Under the Program Manager I have found a yellow ! next to the Conexant program. When you try reinstalling the program from HP site it states that program success however under the Control Panel it still states No Device Found, Also I have found cannot start (Code 10) next to sound device in the system when I try to manually start.

As you can tell from above I'm not a computer person (know enough to be dangerous) but I do not want to spend alot of money on repair if it is just a simple loading issue or I may have missed the approriate repair process. Yes I have checked the volume and mute buttons (which will not light up when pushed)

Any help would be greatly appriciated. You can email me at [email protected].

    THANK YOU
