hard to find any specifications for this machine. using CPU-Z, i have found that it is a Transmeta LongRun Model 0828 mobo and has a total of 488mbyes of ram (suppose to be 512?) and only 1 stick of 256 is shown so that must mean the mobo has 256mb ram integrated correct? anyway, it shows that there are 3 total so-dimm slots and only one is occupied with a 256 stick.

can anyone confirm for me how much ram can be put into this thing and if there really is 3 sodimm slots?

thanks very much, i just got this thing for work but at 1ghz and 512 ram, its kinda slow!

The Transmeta Crusoe at 1GHZ is roughly equivalent to a 700MHZ Pentium 3 performance wise. The CPU uses 20MB of RAM because it is emulating an X86 CPU.

that solves why it only shows 488mb even in cpu-z but i still need to know about the so-dimm slots and the max ram it can utilize

You never told us the model number of the laptop. Is it a Tablet PC TC1000?
