I've owned my Compaq V2000 (V2424NR, 1.8 Turion/2GB RAM/100GB HD) for about 5-6 years now and I've previously opened it up, cleaned it out and added arctic silver 5 to the cpu/gpu. Starting this past weekend, its been shutting down without warning or reason within minutes of booting to the desktop. I can run slightly longer in safe mode, but not by much (20~ minutes). The temps are normal in speedfan so it doesn't seem to be overheating. I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to whether this is a motherboard issue or what it could possibly be. Laptop shuts down regardless of being on AC or Battery power...

I appreciate any input you can provide. Thanks.
