Im looking at the Turion ml-28 with 512 L2 cache. Should I get the ml-30 with 1mb L2cache or the ml-28 and upgrade the RAM to 1mb? Which is more important L2 or RAM? The computer will be used mostly for internet, word, excel.

Circuit City has a great deal on the v2311, but its comes with the ml-28.

    Thanks,
    Andy

RAM. More L2 cache will make a miniscule difference for the tasks you listed but 1GB RAM will be a very noticible upgrade, especially on a shared memory graphics machine.

Circuit City now has a V2312US in their weekly ad that came out today. $749 after rebate. Is this good and anyone know the difference between this and the V2311?

Different stores will have slightly different configurations with slightly different model numbers so they won't have to price match each other. Buy whichever is on sale when you want to buy, though in this case the V2312US has a DVD burner instead of a DVD-ROM/CD-RW, so that's a fairly useful upgrade. The store websites will spec out precisely what each model has.

For $750, is is a gooid deal. At that price range you wont find many laptops with 5400rpm hard drives, the Hd are also user upgradable, so if you want more speed then installing a 5400rpm HD shouldn't be a problem.
