    Compaq V2410 - Suddenly Shutdown

    Today, the V2410 notebook suddenly blacked out while I was on the internet, and after that I couldn't turn it back on either by battery or A/C power. I contacted HP Support, and they told me to send back for repair.

    Have this ever happened to anybody else?

    Maybe your MB has just died. When you send it in be sure to remove any hardware upgrades you have made because HP may not return them you. If you can, back up your HDD on another laptop because HP will most probably return the laptop to factory default, which means they will not preserve your data.

    that happeend to my friend. they ended up taking like 4 weeks to replace more or less everything except for the hd and case

    Yes, you're right, the MB died, and HP replaced it.

    The HP repair services are fast and excellent, they received the notebook in July 4 morning, then checked and repaired and shipped by Purolator in the afternoon, also, I got e-mail message for the shipment, and I got my repaired notebook in this morning( July 5). What's a great service !!
