    Need a new laptop and looking at the Compaq V2410 and the HP zv6130us?

    * Both use a 64 bit processor
    * Compaq
    o Uses a Turion, which I guess uses less power
    o Has a shared graphics card
    * HP
    o The HP is heaver
    o Has integrated graphics, 128 meg. of memory

    Cost difference, about $80-100 more for the Compaq.

    I will be using the computer for Internet, word processing, some programming, a few basic games, etc. No Quake 4!

    Comments?

    Thanks

    When I was buying my laptop, I considered both the V200Z and the zv6000 models. I went for the zv6000 because it offered better graphics, a more powerful processor, and more bang for your buck. However, I planned on moving my notebook around only occasionally, so weight wasn't an issue for me. It all depends on your needs. If you're going to be traveling/moving your computer around a lot, then go for the V2000Z. If you want more power and better graphics, but don't plan on moving your notebook around as much, go for the zv6000.

    Well, for your needs, the V2410 will be just fine. It will be lighter and get better battery life. I would pick that.

    The v2000z for mobility unless you want need a bigger screen. I'd recommend getting them on HPShopping. You can customize them and no tax except a few states. I'd recomment the 5400RPM drive for better perfromance.
