    Compaq V2630 - Card Reader Not Reading.

    Anyone had their card reader go bad on these models? This one is only two months old. If I can fix it without sending it for warranty repair I would prefer to do this.

    Device Manager shows everything okay.

    Is this issue with only one particular card or have you tried multiple cards and getting the same result.

    I've had problems with some XD cards but in the end, after some effort to slide the card in properly, the reader managed them. Try pushing harder.
    Does the light on the reader flash? When you insert a card, the light should go on for a sec before Windows detects the external device.

    Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to get back to you with the results since it is actually my son in another city who has the computer. I'll have him try what you all suggested.
