(You have probably seen my other seemingly pointless posts about this topic, but so far no one has really had any info or input about it.)

I have to admit that I am extremely frustrated with HP becuase they haven't updated their Canadian notebook models yet. However, I'm still attracted to their new notebooks designs; I also know that HP has their own reasons for taking their time and that notebooks form US vendors always come out much later in Canada.
In my opinion, the Presario V3000 and Pavillion DV2000 lines are the best-looking notebook models out there right now, and come with a very good choice of components.
I've been saving up for quite a while now, but still don't have anywhere near enough for the Compaq Presario V3000z (Turion X2) model which sells for about $999-$1099 CAN. I'm seriously hoping that HP releases the the Sempron 3400+ models soon (by next October, or at the very latest, December). Now that retailers are clearing their inventory of the previous generation Presario V2000s, I'm hoping that this is a sign that the new budget V3000s are on their way; this hope may just be my desperate attempt to keep my sanity while I wait for the ellusive V3000z Sempron to arrive.
The recent changes that HP made to thier US lineup suggest that they will not include their new imprint finish, HP QuickPlay, or BrightView screens on their future budget models. This is just fine and dandy with me, becuase those are some of the features I can live without. One thing I would like, is for HP to spend more time on the hp.ca site. Photos of their notebook and desktop PC's are matched with the incorrect products. This can be very annoying and confusing for Canadian online customers. Well there's one thing that's evident: HP doesn't care much about their Canadian customers, and you know what, it really shows.

Well, enough of me babbling on about nonsense, and if you have read till the end, thanks for taking the trouble. Writing these posts is the only thing that's keeping me from complete boredom and insanity during my long wait for my dream notebook PC.

If anyone has any information at all on the Compaq Presario V3000z(Sempron) being available in Canada, please don't hesitate to send me a message; I'd appreciate the info more than you can imagine.

    Signed,

    Desperate in Canada

Umm...I think that, contrary to what I said there, I was utterly insane and depressed when I wrote that post. Please ignore it if you can, and don't worry, I'm getting professional help.
