    Hi,

On my Compaq 6710b I recently noticed that the brightness buttons sometimes simply do not work. Whenever I press fn+lower/higher brightness the pc does not respond.

I googled it and found some information on the official HP forum, a guy said it's because of the video driver (intel x3100). I changed the driver, it worked than, but later the problem occurred again. At home I keep my laptop powered on for 24/7, can it be a reason? Did anyone else encounter this problem?
