Okay, so i've seen a few posts on this site and others where people say that HP/Compaqs will only work with cpus that came from other HP/Compaqs. This is not so. I just popped an engineering sample Core Solo t1350 (QKHU ES) into a Presario v5207nr, which formerly ran a Celeron M 410. The Bios recognized it and the computer booted normally, only faster!

Now, a few v5000 models came with t1350s, and thats why I chose it (bios friendly). But it seems encouraging that a VERY non-Compaq cpu worked just the same. A nice little $30 upgrade for an aging laptop.

Just thought everyone might like to know...

Oh yeah - and the laptop uses the 940gml chipset, which is not advertised as supporting Core Solos. Good Stuff.
