The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    This laptop is not going to the net, in the Device Manager under Network adapters, I am seeing 2 items with rec colored x on them:

    Cisco Systems VPN Adapter
    National Semiconductor DP83815-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter

    I went to the HP site here:

    HP Compaq nx9008 Notebook PC- Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center

    downloaded and installed the "Network" drivers:

    IntelPro Wireless Drivers
    Broadcom WLAN Network Adapters Driver for Windows XP

    but those doesn't solve the problem?

    I also tried searching the net for the two item drivers above but for the first one, Cisco, I don't which one from here to download?
