    Compaq pressario v3000 laptop sound card problem

    I have a compaq pressario v3000 laptop. I recently formatted it and re-installed windows. I was able to find most of the drivers but i couldn't find the right sound driver. i was on compaqs website and d/l the sound drivers for this laptop but didn't work. Is there a way i can identify what sound card is in my laptop so i can get the right driver for it?

    Instead of typing "v3000" into the model search box, put in the PN from the white service tag under your unit.

    An example would look like "RM666AV", which actually denotes a specific Presario build in the v3000 series........
