    Compaq questions

    I've been trying to find a laptop for my father-in-law. I have narrowed it down to two Compaq models. Bestbuy has the V6030US for $799 (Turion X2, 1GB, 80 GD HD, NVIDIA 6150, etc.). Sam's Club has the V6171CL for $599.

    Both have very similar specs. The only differences I can see are that the V6030US has an extra USB port and has a firewire port, Lightscribe, and comes with XP pro instead of XP media center. I think the V6030US has the cool looking gray finish and the V6171CL is all black. Everything else looks the same.

    Does anyone have any insight into any non-obvious differences between the two, experience with either model, or advice/suggestions?
