I have a Compaq v6000 (same as HP Pavilion dv6000) running on MCP51, it has a TL-52 in it - a 90nm cpu. I have two questions first can I upgrade the cpu to a 65nm TL-60 or RM-70?
What difference in temperetures and performance could I expect?

A TL-60 should work. Make sure to update the bios before doing so since HP probably added support to these 65nm processors at the end of the product life cycle. The RM 70 wont work since they use a gen2 socket S1 rather than the gen1 S1 supported by your motherboard. As far as the difference it wont be a whole lot. CPU upgrades are not usually the best way to get max performance boost for the money. Ofcourse, the extra clock speed will bring some benefits depending on what you do.

I do not care much about performance but battery life and, more importantly, lower temperature is what I really seek for. Can you estimate roughly how much improvement could I expect in these areas?

Doesn't the TL-60 naturally run warmer than the TL-50 since the latter is only 31W while the former is 35W? Also, there are both 65nm and 90nm up to TL-64's. I think only the TL-66 and TL-68's are exclusively 65nm.
I put a TL-64 (65nm 2.2ghz) into my dv6000 and upgraded the ram to 4GB (it only officially supports 2GB but 4GB works great) and while it works pretty nicely, I had to lower the voltage to keep the CPU under 70C while playing HD vids.
There are TL-66 (2.3ghz) and TL-68 (2.4ghz) to be had on ebay but they are being bid up and priced way too high for my sensibilities. I paid $70 for the TL-64 and that seemed like alot.
