Hey Everyone,
I just bought a Compaq x1030US laptop and i have plans in the next few months. I am looking to upgrade my memory to 1 GB, the hard drive to the 60GB 7200RPM Hatachi Drive, and a better video card. Now my questions are three fold. I know the Meory for Dell's require Crucail memory in order to run correctly, do the Compaqs require a certain brand as well? Will I gain a performance boost with PC2700 over the PC2100 it came with. Will it even matter? As for the hard the same goes. Will I gain a performance boost? Will it work? Does it matter? Now the Video is another issue. I know the largest Compaq offers is the ATI 64 MB card. Where can I buy these outside Compaq? Can I get the ATI 128MB 9600 Card and install it? If So where do I find this card?
I know it is a ton of information requested but THANKS FOR THE HELP...
Keep up the great forums,
