When was you're shipping date? If it was feb 1 then the shipment isn't delayed until 12:01am EST. So I donno how you got 5% discount.

wow, five percent still pretty sweet. if they always compensate then i wish mines will be delayed as well. estimate to ship feb-1st

I don't get it.... from past delays its usually 10%.
If someone who had previous HP laptop delays and received the 10% or more refund from your purchase price please chime in or I'm gonna look a bit silly! Lol.

Though i had thought it was 10%... i geuss its because they delayed alot of them.. so cant afford dropping 10%..

I got 10% back only after they delayed my envy for a second time (15% coupon the first time). They credited my account after they shipped the laptop.
But I had to wait a month for my laptop... -

You have to make moves or you will get nothing. My ship date was 1/20, after a day they sent the email about the delay with the new date at 2/3 and also a 15% next purchase coupon.
I went to live chat to complain and they said sorry blah, blah. I asked for compensation and they said, oh check your email we sent a 15% coupon, and I laughed and said I didn't want to make a purchase so I got $25 credit.
After another week, I decided to complain again. I got mad and made up bull about needing it for a class and its been over 2 weeks. I was able to get $50, I told him I would rather get an extra battery and he said it is only available with laptop purchase and I am almost 100% sure I could have squeezed out the slice battery free but it was out of stock. Unfortunately my laptop shipped two days after and I was unable to begin round three but I probably would have gotten another 25 or 50.
You just need to complain and straight up ask for it, I didn't even mention the cancel word, but I am sure if you even ask for cancellation you will have them on their knees. -

convik, very good advice.
Basically, the "squeeky door gets the oil" kind of deal. Of course be polite and play it cool with persistence...that shows to be the most effective with HP. Everyone, good luck with this delay/compensation stuff...I'm sure you all can get something out of it, at least the $25 for a nice meal.
