    Howdy...

I have a dv2000t and yesterday Windows Update told me to update to the newest Conexant HD Audio driver (March 2007 release)

However, after upgrading, my mute light flashes on and off (blue to red) regardless of whether the system is muted. The sound keeps playing, but the mute light flashes randomly on and off...

    Anyone else see this?

    Best,

    Benjamin

Well if the audio worked perfectly fine with the old driver, just uninstall the new one. It's not like you are going to improve system performance by updating your audio driver.

I have the same problem. The button is orange when no sound is playing, but when any audio plays it goes to blue. For example, clicking on a link in explorer causes the blue to flash for a split second.

I also noticed this after installing the new driver yesterday. I'm not sure how to uninstall the driver safely (new computer, hesitant to mess with it).

Maybe conexant's next driver will correct the issue.

Uninstalling the old driver is easy (which is what I have done).

Open the device manager, find the conexant device under sound devices, choose properties>drivers, then choose roll back driver. It'll go back to the previous driver...

    Worked for me...

    Best,
