Would you owners of the HP dv6500t confirm if the ethernet connection is gigabit or not? I would like to know what XP and Vista displays for you? I ask this because I'm really interested in getting a notebook with gig-e. I've looked at both manuals for the dv9500t and dv6500t and it looks a little weird. The dv9500t, with PM965+ICH8m, shows gig-E. The dv6500t, also with PM965+ICH8m, shows fast-E. That seems odd for the ethernet to be different when it is integrated onto the board and both systems have the same north and south bridges.

I really want a notebook with gigabit ethernet. I am leaning towards the dv9500t but if I can get the dv6500t, with it's smaller screen, then all the better.

check the HP specs under the what's included link when you customize the notebook on hp.com. It'll be under the picture at the top of the page.
