My laptop only has a lousy 384 megs of ram. I was thinking of adding another stick of 1 gig ram in there or something.

Anyways, I wanted to confirm with you guys that the ram type I should buy is "DDR 333 (pc2700)" and that I would have available slots in my ram slots to add onto my 384 megs of ram and ofcourse, the ability to add ~ 1 gig of ram on top of my 384 megs.

hm, also, I just opened up the laptop cover to find 2 sticks of 256meg ram in there. How come I only see 384 megs of ram installed when I go into properties in My Computer?

Is it due to Virtual Memory?
