When I connect my hp dv6 to my lcd via hdmi, the resolution gets all messed up and the lcd resoultion is all wrong. how do i get the lcd to show the right reseolution as well as the laptop. i remember it working when i first got it but now it doesnt work, i cant get the desktop to show fully on the lcd, even when messing with the screen res.

on my lcd there is a button on the side next to the volume controls that refreshes the screen. press it and it will switch modes 'HDMI - AV' and 'HDMI - PC'... when it's under HDMI - AV mode, the desktop hangs off the edges of the screen, when on HDMI - PC it fits perfectly... other than that make sure your nvidia control panel setting is to the correct res, or if you have integrated graphics CONTROL PANEL > HARDWARE AND SOUND > PERSONALIZATION > ADJUST SCREEN RES.
