Hi everyone,
I've been frustrated as hell lately trying to buy a new laptop. I want a machine with XP, so my choices are limited, and I need to finance it so I can get it NOW instead of waiting for tax returns (I'll be paying it off with that).
I saw one on HP's site that caught my eye, it's a Compaq Presario V6700TX. Here's a link:
http://http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=notebooks&a1=Operating+System&v1=Windows+XP&series_name=V6700TX_series&a1=Operating+System&v1=Windows+XP
As I'd like it configured (with 2.0GHz processor upgrade) it's $829 on sale and comparable to the Dell Vostros 1400 I was considering as well.
Is this part of the V6000 Presario series that is having the overheating motherboard/wireless problems?
Does anyone know if it would have been built AFTER THAT, and therefore not have the overheating issue?
I had a Toshiba Satellite A70 for work that was on recall, and that was a NIGHTMARE I don't want to repeat, especially when this will be coming out of my pocket! Any input would be GREATLY appreciated guys.

Any input on this?

The issues with the motherboard and wifi were with the Broadcom/AMD based systenms. The V6700tx shouldnt have any of those issues. They share the same hardware as the dv6700t/dv6500t. Ofcourse the Compaq is only offered with the integarted graphics.
Considering buying Compaq Presario V6700TX, any problems with these?
