I really would like to have options in my BIOS
not just time and date and boot sequence. I would like the option of a dual band mini pci wireless card of my choosing as well as AHCI. Please contact hp and tell them.
I really am pissed I have a 8 cylinder engine running on 4. This is my machine not theirs!!!

I dont think mailing HP will do much....

If you want to OC, and experiment with your hardware, buy another brand, some High-End laptop, or better, build your own rig.

Hp market target is mainstream, and i dont think HP will support a lot of users changing optiones in the Bios without really knowing what are they doing....

And they don't want you to gain more performance out of their product otherwise you'd have no reason to buy their higher-end stuff

This is the only Logical reason I can think of for them to lock the bios. I would venture to say 90% of owners don't know the bios exists. 5% do but don't want to mess with it and 5% do and want to mess with it :D
