You can control Windows Media Player even when you have another windows in focus (Firefox, Word, etc.) but the only time the media controls work for iTunes is when it's the actual window in focus. Any way to fix this? Thanks!

There is a plugin that someone (I forgot who, but if anyone knows I'll be glad to give credit) wrote a while ago that works for me in iTunes. The only minor problem is that it seems to give iTunes a direct link to the quicklaunch buttons, so if you use those for anything else (quickplay, WMP) while iTunes is open in the background, you might accidentally turn itunes on.

The plugin is a file called mmKeys.dll, and you copy it into your iTunes plugin folder found at C:\Users\ Username\Appdata\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-in (insert your username)

The file can be downloaded here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RT5KRWFY

Awesome! Thanks so much dude! This is EXACTLY what I wanted. I actually hate Quickplay, so replacing iTunes with it is perfect. Thanks so much!

Hi guys. I'm sorry i'm a little lost.
I'm using vista home premium and itunes 8.1.1.10 and can't find those folders on my pc. can't follow C:\Users\Username\Appdata\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-in inserting my user name.
does anyone know in which folder should i put the file? Thank u so much.

Thanks so much for this post!
I'm running a HP dv7 Notebook with dual monitors and I have iTunes running on my TV when i'm not doing work. This makes things work much better! Even the remote that came with my computer works!
-to those having trouble getting this to work, try going into the appdata folder of ALL the users on your computer-

    THANKS!

I'm also going to post on an older thread to say thank you! This file works perfectly with my HP DV7t and installation of iTunes. I'm quite the happy girl now. :)
