    I plan to use it while gaming to improve the airflow around the laptop.
    Otherwise, I agree taht for simple tasks it's not needed.

    even during gaming, it stays really cool (relative to other laptops)...i've played sc2 many times without experiencing any heating issues. but of course mine is not oc'ed.
