I'm really just burning off nervous energy as I wait for the computer to arrive, but I wanted to offer to run any benchmarks or tests anyone wants to see on the new Core 2 dv2000t. The shipping date is 9/12 (supposedly), so it's quite possible someone else will be able to do it earlier. If that's the case, I'd be interested to see some numbers...

I've got one coming that day, too! I can't wait! I got the 2 ghz. I got 1 gig of memory, but plan to upgrade that to 2 of the 667, also.

count me as a third having a dv2000t shipping on/by 9/12.
I picked up the Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0G), with 512 MB RAM and the Go7200. I've already got 2GB of DDR2-667 RAM sitting here just waiting to get into that lappy. -
Are you guys going to upgrade the hard drives in them? I've ordered two over the last few weeks, the newest having a T7200, and i went with the 40 gig hard drive both times because they charge more for the hard drive upgrade. I ordered one of the new Hitachi 160GB 5400rpm drives to put in it. I hope i don't have any problems with it detecting the drive properly since it's larger then 137GB.

Concerning my HD, I configured mine with an 80 GB HD. I really have no use for anything larger. I've got a desktop chock full of music, video, games, etc; this laptop is largely for business/secondary use. If/when I see the need to upgrade, I'll pick up a 7200 rpm drive as they start to come down in price. The speed increase would benefit me far more than additional space.
Concerning the 137GB barrier, that issue I believe was solved with SP1, definitely with SP2. don't even concern yourself with that. -
My dv2000t arrives 9/12 as well. I configured mine with the 1.6GHz core duo /1.GRAM/60GHD/Intel 950/brightview/DVDRW/6cell for $934.70. I'm wondering if I should have just gone with the celeron M, is there a huge difference in performance?

I think there would probably be a pretty good difference in performance between a celeron and a core duo.
Regarding the hard drive, I got the 80GB because I don't want to deal with changing it for now and that should be enough for the time being. I plan on getting an external drive, and if prices become reasonable, I'd really like a 7200rpm drive--maybe a hybrid, even, to offset the faster drive a bit. But I'll let them sort the kinks out on that one first.
