    Hi all,

In windows 7 with the default drivers from HP for my model (HP DV6) my temperatures were around 48-50C on idle/browsing. But now, in Windows 8 with the latest intel HD drivers, i noticed my idle temps are around 55C. Anyone else experiencing an increase in temperatures going from Win7->Win8 and using the latest drivers? If so how did you guys fix it? The only reason i am asking is because at those temperatures, you can hear the fan running as it runs a bit longer and harder.

Have installed the chipset driver? Maybe the cpu runs at max clock all the time.

Have all the drivers installed. A few people over at the HP community support forums are also reporting their CPU overheating / increase in CPU temperature at idle using Windows 8.
