Hi everyone , recently i noticed that when gaming , the temp of core#0 reaches 75 degrees while the other core are around 60-65 . Now when playing shogun 2 the temp of core#0 reached 90 while the others were only 70 . This is really scaring me , i never had this problem before until now . I recently installed leschat drivers 12.2 unifl so is it the cause of the problem or maybe CPUID isnt reading the right temperatures ? The gpu also reaches 65-70 which is normal . Thanks

The game may only be stressing one core, which is why it is so much hotter than the others. What are your temps running prime95 or intelburntest?

I never tried them but if it will help i will try them .What do they do? Edit : i noticed that this happening with alot of games and even on the intel hd the core#0 is 50 and the others are 40 when basically browsing internet. Every game is causing overheating on core#0 85-91 while the others are 75-80 . Another thing i noticed that air is coming out from the part where heat is supposed to be released ( left side near the openings where u can connecting the headphones not near the dvd drive . Please any help would be great

Is that a real problem as long as it doesn't cause stability issues?

My DV6 usually reaches around 95C on CPU cores without any other problems than turbo boost beeing lowered slightly.

Um, you can try to disable Turbo Boost and check what happens. Just google for "How to disable Turbo Boost", the best tutorial for me is reducing Minimum processor state to 98% and Maximum processor state to 99%.

Thanks for replies , i never knew how to enable/disable turboboost, i will check it. As for the maximum processor state and minimum state , for which power option will i change it , the high performance , hp recommended or power saver?which one do you use during gaming and while browsing net?

It doesn't matter. Well, for my self, I've created a new plan and called it "Turbo OFF" and configured everything as I wanted to. Just put maximum processor state to 99% and minimum to 98% and everything else as you want.

Oh ok and the 98 and 99 are they the same while on battery and while recharging ? Btw the only reason im scared is because the core0 is the highest between them which i dont know why . i know most application uses 1 core but i have been using same browser and programs for months and never had this issue, anyone having same issues ?

its 100% normal for core0 to be 10 degrees+ higher than the other cores

every modern quad core processor has cores of varying temperatures for whatever reason

It depends on how do you intend to use your laptop, whether with AC charging mode or on battery. I almost always use AC and enable Turbo Boost mode, when I really need much power, for compressing, video editing etc.

P.S. I would agree with dwalk1989, it doesn't look like it is something is wrong with CPU or whatever.

You are just very precautious with your laptop. :)

I did everything posted here, hope it fixes the problem.Disabling turboboost will decrease performance in games ?I know im precautious but the fact that it quickly heats up makes me scared.Thank you all

I really don't think that there is a game already out which uses all possible quad core (2nd gen) resources. The most important factor in gaming is of course graphics card.
