Hi, I am planning to buy dv6000t or 2000t, abd I prefer to Intel. But Core 2 Duo is more expensive than Core Duo.

Has any one used Core 2? Or some advice.

Does it make a much bigger difference in CPU speed than Core Duo? Or the latter have some fault in design, so Intel produces the new version? If not, I want to buy the common Core Duo...

    thanks. :p

The Core 2 Duo isn't much faster on most applications than the Core Duo. However the Core 2 Duo is 64bit which will be more future proof.

If you want to keep up with the Joneses, go for core 2 duo. My 3 cents.

just consider the programs you will be running...

for now, i am contended with 32-bit programs (yet). i think it will take a while for programs to fully utilize 64-bit.

by that time,i know i can still depend on my lappy

Definitely buy the C2D over the CD, and preferably one of the 4MB L2 cache versions given how cache-dependent Intel architecture is (AMD is much less cache-dependent).
