    Hi Everyone,

After a couple of bad parts on laptops, I'm going to go through Costco to get the 90 days and extra year warranty.

Just wondering a couple of things.

How often have you noticed they have instant rebates available on their CTO laptops? I asked the Costco rep and all she could say was that they, "Absolutely have instant rebates available from time to time," but that was all she could tell me.

I also see HP has a $50 MIR on CTO that ends 1/29. Will they be issuing another one shortly after that you think and could it be more than for the $50 in what you've seen from HP?

I've not kept a close eye on this stuff before so I'm hoping someone else has and can help.

    Thanks a bunch!

Back in Sept they had the 30% off just before school started and then they offered a 20% off for a couple weeks. The 30% off coupon came back the 1st part of October and lasted a week or so, then went away until early December. Other than that they have had a few discount coupons ($300.00 off etc) here and there.

The best one is the 30% off coupon but you really need to jump on it as soon as its released. They will usually say its valid for a couple weeks but there is a hidden limit to how many units they let out the door before they kill the coupon so the coupon may only be active for a week before that limit is reached and bam...no more coupon.

Is that Costco or through HPShopping? I was hoping to get some insight into Costco.

    Thanks!

I'm sorry that's for HP's shopping site, I thought when you said CTO (custom to order) coupons you meant HP's site. Costco only carries pre-configured systems don't they? I've got a Costco business card and I don't think I've ever seen any laptops that could be CTO there.

The Costco Web site has HP CTO laptops. Once you click on the notebooks section on their Web site, you can either look at their pre-configured notebooks or there's a "Customize Your HP" section where you can configure your own.

I stumbled on it when searching where to buy the HP. I had no idea you could customize one through Costco either. It never would've crossed my mind but I've already built my system and was just wondering about the rebates before pulling the trigger.

I too am going to buy from Costco for the 90 day return policy + additional 1 year extended warranty. I didn't realize you could CTO through Costco until this morning.

My VISA card will also double the original warranty for up to 1 year. But I expect that the HP warranty will run through year 1, and then Costco and VISA will run through year 2 (so I guess if I can't get something covered under Costco, I can try with the VISA).

    Thanks...

Hey Xeci, where did you hear about the "$150 off coupon running Feb. 4 - 10 for 17" HP Notebook"? I'm thinking of purchasing one and would love to use this coupon. I'm signed up to recieve Emails from Costco, but haven't gotten anything like that.

    Thanks in advance!

Reby where did you hear about the 30% off coupons? Maybe I'll buy the Laptop direct from HP (and not from Costco). Really it all depends on the price/deal that I get. If its cheaper in Costco, I go for them and visa-versa :eek:P

I got the info from this Costco coupon book I received about a month ago. It says $150 off discount will be offered online also.
