Whats up yall I got a quick question. I was about to order my dv1000t from Costco and just when I was ready to make the purchase my friend called me up and told me to NOT buy from Costco because he ordered a notebook from them and it had light problems or something. It doesnt matter where you order it from right?? I just want to be 100% sure before I buy this notebook. Much love yall and thanks.

If you order from Costco you receive a 6-month return policy so if you are unhappy you can always return it.
There should be no difference where you buy the laptop from; it's a bit of gambling anyway when you buy something you haven't seen.

Now that you have to pay tax at HP.com there is no cost advantage at HP.com so the six month return policy should carry a lot of weight in my opinion.

yes go ahead with costco.com and see if you have some rebate and other replacement warranties like 6 months period. but make sure you buy extended warranty from HP before the original warranty (one year) expires from HP.

I purchased my dv1000t from Costco, and am totally satisfied!

I ordered when they offered an instant $150 rebate. I then realized that I wanted to add the remote control ($16 from Costco, no additional shipping, $20 from HP and I'd have to pay for shipping seperately)

Well, I called and talked with a sales rep. He suggested that I simply cancel my original order, and place a new order. I asked if this would negate the $150 instant rebate, and he told me it would not. Well, when I tried to reorder, the $150 instant rebate wasn't offered (it had expired that day).

Costco agreed to credit back my credit card $150 to make up for my losing the instant $150 rebate!

    Very excellent service...

    Restocking fee?

Not only is there no restocking fee, but Costco refunds your SHIPPING CHARGES!

You have Six months to change your mind, for no reason, and they'll refund not only your full purchase price but your shipping charges, as well.

If you purchased furniture, you have LIFETIME return! And... they'll even come to your home and pick up your sofa, at no charge!

HP does have some advantages over costco if you're buying the bare minimum of their cheaper notebooks it comes out to be cheaper than it does from Costco.

$600 from HP vs. $800 from Costco on a moderately configured V2000 model.

On their higher configurations, however, I agree.
