Please forgive the what I am sure is a stupid question. Is it possible that later down the road,...a company like ATI might make an upgraded video card that plugs into ExpressCard/54 PC slot now on the side of the computer? This way perhaps you could go into device manager and disable the onboard GPU. Then use the plug in card to drive your graphics. Is not the ExpressCard/54 really just an external PCIe slot for plug-in modules? Or am I mistaken? Am I just grabbing at straws? Or is this a money making ideal?

I don't think it will ever happen. The reason I say this...because no pcmcia video card was ever made. Thier has to be a reason for this...imagine the company that put out a pcmcia video upgrade card...how many people would have saved on buying new laptops...Now with Axiom here...in some very high end laptops already, I think it's just a matter of time before the mainstream laptops start seeing Axiom, that being said..an external type video card would cost more than the Axiom upgrade....my 02
