I just had a couple questions on the dv2500t

    1) How heavy is the computer w/ the 12-cell battery (im assuming HP's weight of 5.3 is w/ 6cell) and is the extra weight worth it.
    2) Anyone have an estimate of the total travel weight (Comp + AC adaptor) w/ 12 cell
    3) I'm bad at visualizing weights, can someone give me a reference to smth that weighs comparably to the 2 above weights so i can get a feeling.
    4) Anyone know the reason why the HP home store only has a Intel Centrino Duo 1.5 GHz and a Centrino Duo 2.2 GHz as options....(i want more than 1.5 but 2.2 is a bit much T_T)
    5) Finally how difficult is the glossy finish to take care of (granted i dont mind a few prints here and there)

    1. +1 pound
    2. ~8 pounds
    3. A 6 pound dumbbell and an 8 pound dumbbell.
    4. Probably cause they're waiting for the T7250 that was just released.
    5. Lots of fingerprints, but it comes with a microfiber cloth.

I'll reply to a few of your questions:

    1) The 12-cell battery is about 7 oz heavier than the 6cell). I didn't think the extra weight worth it....until I'm away from electricity and get over 4 hours of battery life.

    4) Anyone know the reason why the HP home store only has a Intel Centrino Duo 1.5 GHz and a Centrino Duo 2.2 GHz as options....(i want more than 1.5 but 2.2 is a bit much T_T)

I don't know but I purposely bought the slowest of the new processors and the integrated graphics card because I wanted a cool and quiet notebook. And I got one. The 2500 is a pleasure to use. For my needs, the slightly extra speed would not make up for the heat generated by faster components. Your needs and heat tolerance may differ.

I just weighed myself while holding my dv2500 w/ 12-cell and the weight of the laptop added 6.2 pounds! So the dv2500 with 12-cell is definitely not a lightweight. I'd compare the weight to a college-level science textbook - portable, but not something you'd want to carry around all day.

Also, the 12-cell protrudes from the bottom of the laptop, which can make it awkward to pack. I'm having trouble finding a sleeve that will accomodate the battery.

The battery life with the 12-cell is excellent though. It easily lasts about 6 hours, under normal usage with power-saving features turned on.

Finally, if i want smth portable (i.e 5.5 lbs at most) should i stick w/ the normal 6cell, or the "high-capacity" 6cell...(whats teh difference)

    The "high-capacity" 6-cell, amazingly, has a higher capacity (~16%) than a normal 6 cell.

.....ignoring the sarcasm, do you think its worth the extra money (i like battery life but not at the expense of portability)

is it like the same size as teh normal 6 cell but with different components

I actually disagree. The DV2500T with the 12-Cell is not that heavy at all, and I could carry it around with little to no discomfornt. But thats just me. It does depend on the user.

The Heat from the dedicated graphics isn't as horrible as people make it sounds. It only gets bad when you play a game really. Other then that, it runs at a decent temperature. I believe it was part of the reasoning behind giving the graphics card lower dedicated ram then the 6500t.
