I just received my DV2500. When it loaded and the vista orb made that noise at startup I noticed it was pretty distorted/crackly. I fired up some songs and it was the same. Parts of the songs would sound clear and others would be very crackly. I have updated the bios and reinstalled the drivers. I have been messing with settings and it's a bit better now. Is there anway to remove all of the crackly distortion that comes out of my speakers?

It seems to be primarily coming from the left side of the speakers. Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks.

I thought about it but I am not so sure. When I adjust the quality of the output (hertz/dvd/stereo) in the control panel the crackling changes sides on the speakers and the amount.

What else can I do? I want to fix this and I am sure there is a way. The fact that I can change which side the crackling comes from means that there has to be a way to completely remove it.

Anyway to uninstall drivers and install new drivers? Or like do a sound card "format" or something?

    Anyone? Please do help.

just from the left sound. it appears to have to do with the frequency of the music, some music is absolutely fine while other music there is a really annoying sound.

I just played Tiesto-Lord of trance, and the start when she is saying "there is nothing to be afraid of" the left side is emitting this really crackly annoying sound. Right now I got Tiesto- In my memory playing, and it sounds clear as...

any ideas? please do help and thank you.

Probably the speaker on that side is just bad, that or a bad connection to that particular speaker.

do you have the microphone muted? At first mine crackled a bit too but it was just the microphones picking up the music and the vibrations in the case.
