    Hi all,
I waited 15 days for my nc8430 to being delivered and now what I got is a crappy SEC screen. Poor viewing angle (vertical and horizontal both unacceptable), poor brightness, contrast and colors.

The screen is matte but that's ok for me.

What can I do? I had just 10 days for sending it back but that's the time it took to be delivered from Italy to where I live (Ireland).

I'm so angered, If I knew this I would have kept my old Travelmate.

This is the first time I've heard of an SEC screen on the business range. My first had an LPL screen, and subsequent replacements are QDS. If it's not too much of an effort, can you kindly perform this simple test for me?

I'm trying to determine if it's an LCD issue with mine too. I hope they won't attempt a 4th replacement with an SEC screen for me.

How do you tell which screen you have? SEC vs LPL, etc?

Yes, I have the same issue. Actually the screen colors/brightness are a real crap. I can't even compare it to the DELL LCD that I have here at the office.

BTW, mine is a WXGA screen, 1280x800.

Do you think I can be entitled for a screen replacement?

Right click on My Computer, click on Manage.
On the left tab click on Device Manager, then on the right tab select Monitor, Plug and Play Monitor, double click on it.

Select the details tab and see after DEVICE what you get.
    Mine reports "SEC3245".
