    Should I be concerned that the accessories for my new HDX 16t were packed in a large box with almost nothing to cushion them inside? I'm particularly concerned about the 1TB drive. See photo.

    No they should be fine. HD's will only get damaged in transit if it is turned on.

    If you really worried then do a checkdisk or hdtune scan on the drive.

    Primary packaging provides sufficient protection.
    Everything should be fine.
