I just received a new DV2700tv last week and had sort of the same issue. Obviously you've made it to the recovery manager and have selected to create the Recovery Disk. The problem I had was that it would not burn to the Fuji Film 8X DVD -R disks I was using. I then swapped to some older 2X TDK DVD -R's I had and the process completed without error and verified the disks. I'm not sure if this is related to Recovery Program, the DVD -R disks, the burner itself, or any combination thereof but in any case try a different name brand DVD -R/ +R . Also be advised that once it completes the process that's it, no more copies, so protect or copy the disk when you've finished. I my case it took about 2 hours for it to complete so be patient.

    Hope this helps...

Just try a different brand. You dont specifically need a TDK but in some cases the recovery software is picky on the media.
