I'm trying to create the restore disks, and i'm on my 2nd hour on the first disc... is this normal?

Also, can I use Vlite on these restore Disks?

Are you trying to create the disks on a new notebook with the original OS? If so it is not normal. It should take maybe a hour to an hour and a half, and 2 to 3 DVD's.

You can't use Vlite with these restore disks to do a "Clean Install" if that is what you are asking.
