Current Notebook BIOS List - HP Pavilion
Other HP BIOS threads: Business | Envy & HDX | Presario, G-series, Mini | Tablet PC

    Last Updated: December 17, 2014

IMPORTANT: An updated BIOS may be available for your notebook PC that addresses several UEFI EDK2 security vulnerabilities. Please CLICK HERE for more information. This BIOS thread will also be updated with the new releases as time permits.

Here is an updated list of BIOS releases available for all relatively recent HP Pavilion notebooks (most of which support Windows 7). All of the BIOS images linked from here are original and unmodified, hosted at HP's very own FTP server.

Please refrain from posting BIOS issues in this thread, unless the issue stems from here due to inaccurate information. If you are encountering a specific problem that pertains to the BIOS, please create a separate thread for it in the appropriate forum section. You will likely have a much better chance at receiving a response in doing so. If you find a BIOS update or would like to make a suggestion or request for this thread, please post here.

    Important Information

The BIOS images posted in this thread must be flashed in a Windows environment.

Only use the BIOS release that is applicable to your particular notebook model. Do NOT attempt to flash a BIOS image that is not supported or designated for your model. Doing so will render your system unusable!

Be sure to carefully read the guidelines displayed by the BIOS update utility to ensure a successful flash.

I suppose that means said notebooks are going to be available soon. The dv4 looks interesting. It doesn't have a very good discrete graphics choice, the 6470m is basically equal to the 6620g, though.

Check the HTML notes to see the issues that have been fixed in this version (the link is in the table on the same row as the appropriate series).

Remember, BIOS updates are cumulative - so fixes from previous releases also apply to the most current version.

some news guys. modded bios for dv6t and other (sp53216.exe F.14 InsydeH2O)

unlocked some options in bios, and removed whitelist.

tested by myself and working :D

PS. It's still in testing condition.
Please remember to come back and leave feedback.. :)

Just unpack .rar and start InsydeFlash.exe

I know this is not right place where it needed to be, please move the post if needed.

    Jeez. That was quick.

It wasn't even a week ago that the whitelist could only be beat with the hiberation and PCI ID trick.

    Download
    Double click to run
    Follow the on screen instruction

You may think I'm messing with you, but really I'm not.

When you power your computer on, press ESC and follow the instructions to bring up the BIOS (F10 I believe). Then, inside navigate and find the switchable graphics option and set it to Fixed.

After installing the BIOS update I switched to fixed mode in the BIOS and in CCC to the 6670M. I then reran "WEI" (Windows Experience Index) and it took major hits in both graphics scores.

Don't want to mess up here, but if I run one of these bios, will it give me the option to flash with a usb drive or will it immediately flash in windows?

The flashing happens in Windows, when using these Softpaqs / BIOS update utilities.

opposite of a black list?!? ... actually a white list specifies which hardware is allowed/supported.

(are you sure you aren't really more interested in 15% stackable coupons?... this isn't directed at YOU personally ... unless that is your objective :D )

They can keep the F1A BIOS. All that changes is the hability to switch Dynamic Graphics to Fixed. Bull...

I took HP owns Quality and Suport Advice: Sent the Pavilion back and go my money back.

Now I have a Asus K53: No bluetooth and a low res chat camera.

    Bluetooth solved for 10€.

    Camera... who cares?

I personally wanted control over my laptop and I have got it alongwith that update so on my side Im happy with my laptop

and you are happy with yours...

A comparison between the two laptops is unnecessary.

I personally think the 540 is not as good as the 6770...
