I updated to 11.4 on my Envy 17 3D SB today but the brightness keys don't work. I used this procedure:

    1. Uninstalled drivers using Driver Sweeper
    2. Restarted
    3. Cleaned registry items using CCleaner
    4. Installed Intel HD Graphics drivers from Intel's website
    5. Restarted
    6. Installed 11.4 driver from AMD's website

hmm. I don't know man. Honestly I didn't do any of that. I just installed them over my old drivers. In the middle of the install my laptop froze and restarted. When it booted it up again it didn't have any drivers installed. So I then installed them again, and it worked like a charm.

I think you may just need the HP drivers for your brightness keys to work....

--------has anyone upgraded their INTEL gpu drivers?

I updated and the laptop screen went black but I now know that it actually was stil instaling even though the screen was black. non the less, I updated and the screen went black, turned off the computer, turned back on and the driver was updated but not the catalyst software so I installed again to update the gpu software and everythign worked fine. I heard this only happens with the first update from the hp switchable ones.

    Thats not the proper way.
Uninstall AMD and Intel graphics drivers (no driver sweeper needed). Then install the latest switchable graphics drivers from the HP site. Install the mobility 11.4 drivers over them. Done.
