Has anybody tried buying a customized HP laptop through a friend or relative living in the US and re-shipping to Canada?
I asked HP support about it and they gave me the export policy which basically said I could do that but they would only do repairs/returns from within the US (so you would have to again go through the friend or relative) and would not extend the warranty to accommodate a longer shipping time (which I can understand).
It seems like a very reasonable solution but I'm still a little nervous about trying it. Has anybody already done this?

I can post the policy if anyone is interested...
