    Here's some more information regarding this error;
    PowerDVD 10 Install Failure

    I had opened a case with Cyberlink and they mentioned I needed to contact HP due to it being OEM software. I contacted HP and they told me to reformat my system. I explained that the proposed solution wasn't a solution at all but a quick response to close a case.

    Anyhow long story short, I was able to reinstall my OEM version tonight. I ended up trying the 11 trial installer and that went through ok. Then I uninstalled it and tried the reinstall of my OEM 10 version. That failed with same error as before.

    However, I then took my vercheck.dll out of the SWSETUP\DVD2D3D folder and ran setup.exe again. It went through all dialogs just fine and it reinstalled v10.

    Hopefully this will help out others and perhaps someone can get back to this post stating whether or not the trial of 11 needs to be on first or not.
