    hey

I bought a new hp pavilion dv2750 about a week ago, and when I 1st plugged in the ac adaptor I felt that the ac dosent stick in tight into the jack, not like my previous dell notebook. I am worried that this jack will get loose in the future and I will have to send it to HP... Is this normail in the dv2000 series? Or should I call HP for support.

Not sure I have had a similar problem with my vostro 1500 (dell) since the day I received it and it has not really gotten worse.

The power jack was loose on my dv6400 from day one, the previous generation model fit much more snugly (although they were prone to jack failures)............

I don't know about you guys, but my Verve has those shiny black and bluelight plastic "frames" around all the ports including the power jack. If you notice, none of these "frames" are tight - you can pretty much wiggle all of them. I noticed that when I first plugged it in to charge. Considering the frame that outlines the jack is loose, there's going to be some give on the jack itself, because that "frame" that glows blue is loose around it when it's supposed to be supporting it. I don't know why HP did that.

Mines quite tight, you can actually hear and feel it click in. It should be tight and snug.

I think it gets loose the more you use it. I dont really use the AC jack much because my AC power comes from Quickdock. Maybe this is why

I noticed that exact same thing the first time I plugged in my dv2700 for the first time. I thought I was just dreaming, but my previous dv6000 was never that loose.

Im not sure if its worth sending it away for a month so HP can send it back saying there isnt anything wrong. Besides, do you know hard it will be to explain that issue to outsourced tech support in India? Might as well get a labotamy.... cause that would be a less painful waste of time.

It may just be poor design of the mobo-to-chassis fitment. I noticed that my USB ports are just as sloppy............

Checked several dv27XX series at retail and every single one of them had a loose (able to wiggle up and down) power jack. Must just be the way they are.

I just received a dv6500t SE last Friday and the AC connection clicks in like Flipfire described. The cord definitely wouldn't come out on its own.
