I am looking to buy a DC adapter for my dv2500t computer.
One in particular I'm looking at is the Targus Universal Laptop 90 Watt AC/DC Adapter (APM12US). I'm having a problem finding the correct tip though. They don't list the dv2500t specifically in the tip configurator. They do list the dv2000, dv2000t, and dv2000z computers. The weird thing is, the dv2000z and dv2000 are listed as using the same tip (S2) while the dv2000t is listed as using a different one (S1). I was under the impression that all dv2000 series computers used the same tip since HP only sells one adapter for them.
Would a tip for a dv2000(t) computer work with my dv2500t? Does anyone have experience with this adapter or a different one. Should I just go for the adapter directly from HP rather than a 3rd party one even though it is REALLY expensive?

OK. I did some more research. I went to the HP parts store and typed in the "Replace with..." part number for my AC adapter. After finding it, I started plugging in the numbers of the computer models that use this adapter (the power adapter tip is non-removable so I figured all computers that use this adapter must also have the same tip). All the computers (of the ones I tried) came back saying they use tip S1.
I think I'll go ahead with my purchase based on this info. -
