    Hey Guys,
    I currently have a DV6500t right now with DDR2 PC2-5300 4GB RAM (2x2GB).
I want to upgrade to the DV5T notebook but I was wondering since the DV5T uses DDR2 PC2-6400 RAM, can I take the 4GB DDR2 PC2-5300 RAM from my DV6500t, put it into the DV5T, and have it working 100% in the DV5T?

    Thanks guys!

Yes, you could take the ram out of your older dv6500t and put it in your dv5t and it would work, but know that by doing so, you are making the system on the newer notebook clock down to work with the ram. Personally, I would rather order 4 GB from newegg for the PC2-6400 since it is fairly cheap to not impact the performance of the system, not that it would be that much.

Yes, it would work, but it will be slower since the dv5t can use PC2-6400 800MHz. If you are interested in 2x2GB PC2-6400, check out my sig links. I'm selling my kit.

Are any one of the notebooks (dv6500t or DV5t) able to use PC2-800?
    What about DDR3 RAM?

No, DDR3 will not work, differernt number of pins. You can use pc2 6400 800Mhz on both, the dv6500t will simply downclock it to 667Mhz
