I have a dv6500t with 2x1GB of DDR2-667 installed currently. I know the memory bus is capped at 667MHz, but does the system successfully run on DDR2-800 memory?

I was thinking of installing 2x2GB of OCZ DDR2-800, which is only $4 more than the 667 variant at Newegg. I was thinking, I may one day have a laptop with native 800MHz support, so why not buy the memory now if it also works now?

    It will run...just at 667MHz.

As Greg says, it will work but will downclock to the 667Mhz speed.
