Initially I ordered a dm1-4010us, but it came in the mail with a collapsed mousepad (*right click button). So I called HP and was taken care of.

Few days later, I received a shipment of replacement.

They sent me a dm1-4051xx instead.

    ---{information/specs}---
    The initial dm1-4010us came with:
11.6" Diagonal HD Brightview LED Display
320 GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
    WLAN & Bluetooth
    AMD E-450 (1.65GHz)
    Window 7 Home Preium (64-bit)

    The dm1-4051xx came with:
11.6" Diagonal HD Brightview LED Display
6400 GB Hard Drive (5400 RPM)
    WLAN & Bluetooth
    AMD E-450 (1.65GHz)
    Window 7 Home Preium (64-bit)

The Difference is the hard-drive....So is this a fair upgrade? Par-say...

Or am I getting a rip-off from this replacement. The weird thing is I checked on HP store, and the slower RPM, bigger space drive is actually cost more...

Arguably the larger hard drive might be around the same speed.

Larger hard drive = Denser platters = less distance for a head to move.

All in all if there is a difference it would be pretty darn negligible. I would consider it an upgrade.

I see, btw, so you would settle with the 4051xx (w/5400rpm) instead of the 4010 us if given the option... eh?

Personally yea, the very negligible sacrifice of speed is offset by the bigger space.

Especially if you put that in an small 2.5" external enclosure and update to an SSD boot drive.
