DO NOT BUY HP...YOU WILL BE VERY GLAD FOR 1YEAR 1 YEAR AND A HALF AND THEN....BOMMMM!!!!...LOOK ON THEY'RE FORUM...YOU WILL SEE THAT THIS MODEL HAS A LOT OF PROBLEMS...LIKE ALL HP PAVILION...
THEY HAVE A VERY BIG PROBLEM WITH THE GRAPHIC CARDS AND THEY DO NOTHING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM...
IF YOU ARE "LUCKY" LIKE ME AND LIKE OTHER THOUSAND PERSONS YOU WILL HAVE TO SPEND 400-500 EUROS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

I SUGGEST YOU TO BUY SOMETHING ELSE...DELL, ASUS, LENOVO...I DON'T KNOW...BUT IF YOU BUY THIS CRAP YOU WILL BE SORRY...TRUST ME...

Yes, fair enough, but it does feel like a slap in the face when a company decides to sell defective products even though knowing there are performance issues with the product.

It's a bigger slap in the face to realize that with a little google-effort, you yourself would have discovered these 'problems' before spending any money.

I don't know why people keep defending multibillion dollar enterprises when obiously are the only one to blame.

So, if you want to be a tool of HP, knock yourself out.

NVIDIA is the primary culprit. They made the defective chips and hid the problem for as long as they could. HP was slow to notify their customers on how to compensate for the defect (BIOS update) though. My old dv9208nr is still running because it got the update early. I still buy HP but I make sure to get ATI GPUs.

I am disgusted with HP India's obnoxious defense. After 4 services, they want me to again redeposit my dv 9300 in the service center. They also say that is the only viable way to get a once-dedicated HP loyalist like me to continue to buy their forthcoming products. Ha ha what a joke!!!

I'm not defending anyone. I'm pointing out that google searches are free and in the case of the hp/nvidia reliability problems, a few minutes would have saved you the money and time and frustration.

If you want to be a tool in favor of blindly spending money, knock yourself out.

in most people's cases (like mine) there was no way to know of the failure, since they purchased so early - and many sources have stated (including nvidia) that hp was notified well before august 2007, when i bought my dv9543cl

Ha ha another joke, now, isn't it. Got my notebook in July 2007.The problem was always there internally, but it was never acknowledged this early by either nvidia or hp.

The most affected cards are Go 7200, Go 7400, Go 7600, 8400m gs and 8600m gs. One faulty card gets replaced in the service center by another and we all are made scapegoats. The entire batches of these cards were faulty with little to zero quality control being enforced by the OEM.

Same here, no way I could know of the defect at the moment I bought the v6000z.
